49 Winchester just took to social media to announce they’ll be opening for Luke Combs as he embarks on his 2023 World Tour this fall.
Best known for hits like “Annabel” and “Russell County Line” (named for their hometown in Southwestern Virginia), 49 Winchester has been gaining momentum with their Alternative-bluesy sound and clearly isn’t slowing down any time soon.
Within the last year, 49 Winchester’s popularity has skyrocketed. After hitting (and quickly exceeding) 1-million streams on Spotify with the release of their album “Fortune Favors The Bold,” the band also made their Grand Ole Opry debut in August of last year.
After hinting at an announcement on Twitter Monday night, the band broke the news that they’ll be opening for Luke Combs during the European leg of his 2023 World Tour. They shared the news with an Instagram post Tuesday afternoon, stating this was “the biggest thing to ever happen to 49, and the hardest secret to keep.”
This duo makes perfect sense, especially since Luke Combs has been pretty public about his love for the band. He was featured in Rolling Stone wearing a 49 Winchester t-shirt. 49 also includes the photo from this feature on their site where the shirt is for sale.

The European leg of the tour includes fourteen shows with Ray Fulcher, Drew Parker, and James McNair also along for the ride. Kicking things off in Oslo, Norway on September 30th, the addition of 49 Winchester guarantees this will undeniably be one HELL of a show.
