Ella Langley Reveals That She Has Recorded A Song With Keith Urban: “When He Reached Out, I Said ‘Absolutely'”

It’s insane to think that even a chart-topping, multi-platinum artist like Ella Langley can get starstruck.

With the release of her third studio album, Dandelion, just a little over a month away, the 26-year-old singer-songwriter has been at the center of the spotlight thanks to the incredible success of leading singles like “Choosin’ Texas” and the album’s title track. Released in October 2025 and co-written with Miranda Lambert, the highly catchy tune, “Choosin’ Texas,” has continued to dominate both the radio airplay and the Billboard charts.

In recognition of its sustained radio success, Langley joined the Country Countdown USA with Lon Helton this past week to discuss everything from the Nashville ice storm to the support she received from fellow country artists while creating the album. One artist she unexpectedly mentioned was 15-time ACM Award winner Keith Urban.

Langley told Helton that part of the album was actually recorded at Urban’s recording studio, The Sound, in Nashville. At the CMA awards this past November, Langley teased this fan-girl moment in an interview with 96.9 The Kat saying, “the other day I walked into the studio, I’m finishing up this new record, I walked in and Keith Urban was sittin on the couch, it was his studio that we were recording at and he was just sittin on the couch.” She then exclaims, “You know I’m tired of acting like this is cool all the time, this is so cool!”

She expanded on this in her Country Countdown interview, saying, “We also finished up some of this album at his studio. One day, he was just there sitting on the couch, just hanging out.  He just sat there and listened. It was really cool.” Probably the most exciting part of it all is that Langley also noted that Urban actually joined her on an upcoming song. “Imagine you’re me, and you get a text from Keith Urban.  When he reached out, I said, ‘Absolutely.’”

This is truly a full-circle moment for the rising female artist, especially given her influence from Miranda Lambert throughout this whole album’s creation. The Australian country singer released his hit “We Were Us” with Lambert back in 2013 not to mention his other highly successful duets with female artists including Carrie Underwood (“The Fighter”), P!nk (“One Too Many”), Taylor Swift (“That’s When” and “Highway Don’t Care”), and Lainey Wilson (“Go Home W U”).

Urban’s last official album, High, was released in September 2024, followed by a deluxe edition over a year later in October 2025 and a live concert album, High and A (Live) in December 2025. With over 35 years in the music industry and 12 studio albums, it’s exciting to hear that the country music veteran is going to be joining forces with one of country music’s hottest rising artists.

Given Urban’s exceptional guitar skills, he’s known for lending his musical talents to tracks like these, but hopefully the mystery song will be a full vocal duet. It also remains unconfirmed whether this track will appear on Dandelion or be released as new music from Urban. However, with only three songs released from the 18-track project so far, it will be exciting to see what else the album has in store and whether any additional surprise collaborations are still to come.

Langley will start officially touring the album in May, kicking off on the 7th in Toledo, Ohio. Joined by Kameron Marlowe, Dylan Marlowe, Kaitlin Butts, Gabriella Rose, and Laci Kaye Booth, and with 16-stops ahead of her, Langley’s busy summer on the road will officially wrap up in August on the 15th in Fort Worth, TX.
