Responding to a comment on Country Chord’s Instagram this morning, Ronnie Dunn has confirmed new music for the first time since 2007. With fans praising last night’s performance at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, he not only promised an upcoming release, but one that will likely come soon.
With the duo having already reached number one on Billboard’s Hot Country chart 20 times over the course of their career, long-time supporters have eagerly awaited new music for quite some time. Meanwhile, in the wake of their performance alongside Morgan Wallen for eight shows on the Still the Problem Tour, a fresh release will also create a golden opportunity for Brooks & Dunn to add yet another generation of fans to their legacy.
In terms of their recent studio activity, the pair’s new work will also build on projects like REBOOT and REBOOT II, which have seen the “Red Dirt Road” singers collaborate with artists like Luke Combs, Kacey Musgraves, and Cody Johnson on updated versions of their hits.
It’s difficult to underscore just how strong of an impact this release could have. At a time when many are critical of advances in Nashville, new Brooks & Dunn music may be the key to unlocking the 90s country sound that so many crave today.
