Trading in his immersive, paradise-themed residency for jam-packed stadiums across the country, Kenny Chesney is officially hitting the road again in 2027.
The Country Music Hall of Famer has spent the past two years crafting a one-of-a-kind experience at Las Vegas’ dazzling Sphere, but with fans scattered across the country, it was only a matter of time before he returned to his football stadium-hopping roots. With that being said, come this spring, Chesney is officially gearing up for his 2027 Original Vibe Room Stadium Tour.
After days of teasing upcoming dates with cheeky “Vibe Room” posts across various stadium social media pages, Chesney finally confirmed the news, announcing that he’ll kick things off on April 24 in Tampa, Florida. His opening night concert will check off his eighth show in total at Raymond James Stadium, followed by 18 more stops, wrapping up in late summer on August 28 in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
Oh, and to really top things off, Eric Church is once again opening for the “Beer In Mexico” singer. Not many artists can say that THE Eric Church is their opening act, but sure enough, the pairing reunites the two more than a decade after Church last joined Chesney on the 2013 No Shoes Nation Tour.
And for those of us who weren’t there to witness the epic pairing the first time around (myself included), fingers crossed we may be in luck. Back in the day, each night, Church would join Chesney onstage for a performance together— a tradition they will hopefully revive once again.
Also joining the East Tennessee native are “Soak Up The Sun” singer Sheryl Crow and newcomer Greylan James (who helped co-pen Chesney’s “Happy Does” and “Born”). In preparation for his return to traditional touring, this dynamic trio seemed to be the perfect combination to top off the experience, according to Chesney, who shared: “I called Eric, who’d come out that first weekend in Vegas and sang a few with me, to see if he’d want to do this. He was in. Then, to give fans a twist, something a little different, but someone who rocks and everyone in No Shoes Nation loves, I asked Sheryl Crow if she wanted to come play with us; and she said, ‘Yes.’”
Chesney continued, “Suddenly, we’ve got all that high-powered energy, and it was starting to feel the same way we did way back in the day…”
Per fans’ predictions, Old Dominion will also make a special appearance on tour during Chesney’s June 19 Buffalo stop. Call it wishful thinking, but given their two collaborations, “Save It For A Rainy Day” and “Beer With My Friends,” there’s bound to be some onstage collaborations.
As for the tour’s throwback namesake, Chesney wanted to play into the camaraderie of his VIP backstage experience, which he started back in 2022 as “a place for our people – the adults, guests, musicians – to come together, get a drink, hang out, meet up, maybe make some new friends.”
The tour obviously comes at a perfect time with his upcoming album, Silver Sands Marina, dropping in less than two weeks on September 25. So far, he’s given a glimpse into the project with its debut single “Carry On” as well as the title track, “Burn My Boat,” and most recently, “Goldfish” with Lily Meola.
