Continuing the celebration of her 11th studio album, Crisco, Miranda Lambert hit up Billy Bob’s Texas last night (October 6) for an epic sold-out show.
Obviously showcasing some of last Friday’s releases off the new project such as her Ella Langley duet, “Snakeskin Boots,” Lambert also rewinded the clock with some of her throwback staples of her discography. To the crowd’s luck, this included her 2024 release with the one and only Parker McCollum, “Santa Fe.”
While the Postcards From Texas staple has racked up well over 5 million streams on Spotify alone, I like to think of this song as my own personal baby. There’s just something about the two Texas natives harmonizing on the track that NEVER gets old, and judging by the videos making the rounds online, their live rendition was every bit as magical. Beforehand, Lambert introduced her duet partner to the stage, excitingly surprising the Fort Worth crowd by announcing, “I thought y’all would like to know that my good pal Parker McCollum was here tonight,” with, of course, the room erupting in cheers.
McCollum shared that when Lambert extended the invite to her Billy Bob’s album release party, it was pretty much a no-brainer. He started off serenading the crowd with “Solid Country Gold.” Miranda joined in, harmonizing on the chorus and hyping him up by his side.
The Gold Chain Cowboy also got the chance to highlight one of his signature hits, “Handle On You,” alongside Lambert. Much like his reimagined duet with Lee Ann Womack on “Killin’ Me,” there’s just something about McCollum’s songs that lends itself perfectly to a female duet, and Miranda’s added vocals proved that once again.
The two kept their surefire chemistry rolling into Lambert’s new country-disco era, with McCollum featured on her latest bonus track: a funky rendition of Rosanne Cash’s chart-topper, “Seven Year Ache.” The track is only available through tomorrow night at 11:59 p.m. ET when you download Crisco on iTunes (Download Here).
