Zach Bryan Reveals What Helps Him Play the Same Songs Every Night on Joe Rogan’s Podcast

Being out on the road night after night can be tiring. Spending each day in a tour bus, wearing the same few shirts and eating similar foods gets old even for the most hardened road warriors. The same goes for country music’s fastest-growing star, Zach Bryan.

During his appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, Bryan opened up about the repetitive nature of playing similar setlists every night and what keeps him motivated to give it his all during every show, “I love making music and stuff, but even touring, playing the same songs, I love doing it because the people are so beautiful and the people who come to the shows are so moved by it. But people look at me, and they don’t realize that I played the same show X amount of times. And I’m so blessed, so lucky, but sometimes man, I’m like halfway through my set and I’m like, ‘Give it all you got, man. Give it all you got, no matter how many times you’ve sang it.'”

Rogan likened Bryan’s mindset to the “Joe DiMaggio Principle” which stems from DiMaggio’s quote, “There is always some kid who may be seeing me for the first or last time, I owe him my best.”

Bryan agreed and said that his father, Dewayne, tells him the same thing every time he goes on stage.

The Something in the Orange singer then revealed how he makes every show count for the audience, saying, “What I do when I go on stage, I look out at the audience and I pick out one kid. Whoever it is, I pick out one kid who’s in it. I’m like, ‘Man, this one’s for you.’ And that’s how I do it.”

Earlier in the episode, Bryan talked about the Bud Light controversy, meeting with Travis Tritt and more. You can read about it here.
