It’s finally Friday, and that means one thing: new country music. From deluxe editions of albums to singles and brand-new projects, this Friday, September 15, has plenty to offer from a wide range of different artists. Cherokee Rose – Colby Acuff Cherokee Rose is an absolute heart-wrencher, depicting the story of a man reminiscing about his late wife, the titular “Cherokee Rose.” Acuff’s storytelling ability shines here. He packs the track with incredibly detailed imagery/phrases such as “with aging eyes as misty as an early morning dew” and “then we sat there in silence as he held hands with her…

Back in June, Colby Acuff released his highly anticipated, Western White Pines. The album was received well by critics and fans alike, prompting the If I Were the Devil singer to release an extra six songs. Acuff took to Instagram on August 18th to announce the release of the deluxe edition to his fourth studio album. The post expressed his entire vision for the Western White Pines project as a whole. “‘Western White Pines’ is s [a] project that started a little over a year ago and is a task that I have put my life into making. After months of speculation, tweets, retractions and false release dates, Zach Bryan has finally released his highly-anticipated follow-up to 2022’s American Heartbreak. Coming only a year after the self-titled and independently produced record, Zach Bryan marks the fourth full-length album from the Something in the Orange singer and his second major label album with Warner. Zach Bryan ultimately feels like a unique blend of the low-fi nature of his independently released records, DeAnn and Elisabeth and the professionally produced, heartland sound of his most recent releases. Tracks such as Smaller Acts and Summertime’s Close feel as if they’re ripped straight…
Tyler Childers, one of the pioneers of today’s independent country phenomenon, is back with his sixth studio album, Rustin’ In The Rain. The lead-up to the record was quite a quick one with In Your Love serving as the lone single before a release date was given. This song, of course, wasn’t without its controversy due to the fact that the music video featured two gay miners. Some viewed that as groundbreaking, as it became the first-ever country music video with a gay storyline to be released by a major label. Present on Rustin’ In The Rain is the highly…
2022 will forever go down as the year of Zach Bryan. After dropping the 34-track album, American Heartbreak, in May and following that up with the 9-track EP, Summertime Blues in July, Bryan let everyone know that he wasn’t planning on slowing down any time soon with the release of Burn, Burn, Burn in September. The track racked up over 175,000 views the first day it was posted on Aug. 17, 2022; however, Bryan took the original video down before announcing the song’s official release on September 8. Burn, Burn, Burn is arguably Bryan at his most personal. He’s not…
In 2019, Randy Houser dropped a hidden gem of an album, Magnolia. The record truly broke the bro-country stereotype that Houser had been previously associated with and is packed with gorgeous tracks; however, one stands out. That song is Evangeline. Unlike the rowdy, rockin’ songs that Houser had become famous for during the 2010s such as Runnin’ Outta Moonlight and How Country Feels, Evangeline ultimately feels like a much more delicate song that would feel right at home in the discography of the singer/songwriters of today such as Charles Wesley Godwin and Zach Bryan. The aforementioned delicacy of the track…
