After a successful year in the outlaw country scene in 2023 which included an extended run on Eric Church’s Outsiders Revival tour and five separate RIAA certifications for hits such as “Loud and Heavy,” “Hippies and Cowboys” and “Must Be the Whiskey,” Cody Jinks continued his success in 2024 with the release of the his 11th studio album, “Change the Game.”
Today, Jinks decided to give fans a little extra this year and broke the news that he is re-releasing his 2012 album, 30, as Backside of 30, a remastered version with an additional song, “When the New Wears Off,” on Friday, September 27.

Discussing the decision to re-release 30, the “I’m Not the Devil” singer noted that it was a huge step up compared to his first album, Less Wise, as a songwriter, and it was time to remaster the project, “I really love the ’30’ album. I feel like it was a big step up for me in my writing, and it was time to remaster, add a new one and re-release.”
Backside of 30 will be remastered by Adam Grover, who has been a frequent collaborator with the likes of Zach Bryan and Wyatt Flores, and remixed by Nick Choate, who originally produced the album back in 2012.
As for the brand-new song, “When the New Wears Off,” it was written solely by Jinks and produced by Ryan Hewitt and Joshua Thompson. The track is described as a “heartfelt anthem about everlasting and unconditional love that bridges together the prolific eras of his [Jink’s] songwriting.”
