Named after Leather — his album that hit all music streaming services in November of 2023 — Cody Johnson embarked on The Leather Tour alongside Justin Moore, Dillon Carmichael and Chris Janson shortly afterwards.
Beginning in Sacramento, California on January 19 and hitting venues all across America (and Canada) — including Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee on February 2 — it looks like The Leather Tour will not be slowing down anytime soon, adding 10 new fall dates to the tour today (April 22).
The CMA Award-winner will be heading to South Dakota, Montana, Louisiana, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Minnesota, Missouri and Pennsylvania this fall to perform at various venues, but arguably the most notable performance will take place at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas on November 9. Taking pride in his home state, this concert will undoubtedly be special for the “That’s Texas” singer, as he will be playing his second stadium show of The Leather Tour at the home of the Texas Rangers MLB team, as well as having Jon Pardi join him as a special guest.
“My guys and I have spent 17 years on the road, and it’s not lost on any of us how fortunate we are to get to do this for a living and now at this level. I truly believe God put me on this Earth to help make country music sound like country music again. Can’t wait to see y’all on November 9 at Globe Life Field,” Johnson shared in a statement about the Texas show in particular.
Until these shows arrive in September and October, Johnson will continue The Leather Tour that is currently underway this weekend, prior to attending the Academy of Country Music Awards on May 16, where he is among the top nominees. Securing nods for Entertainer of The Year, Male Vocalist of The Year, Album of The Year (Leather), Song of The Year (“The Painter”) and Visual Media (“Human”), only time will tell if he gets to add a trophy to his collection.
