That twang though.
Back in the good ole days, you know… before Bluetooth, Wifi, smartphones and that God-awful millennial grey color splattered on the walls of millions of homes across America, Justin Timberlake (then going by Justin Randall) was already paving his own way to becoming a bonafide star.
Although the direction of his music took a wide left turn (thanks Timbaland), Justin has admitted time and time again that he’s wanted to put out a Country album, even dropping a record titled “Man of the Woods” back in 2018 that he says was inspired by his folk and country influences growing up. And of course, as you probably remember, he even teamed up with Chris Stapleton for a legendary performance of “Tennessee Whiskey” at the 2015 CMA Awards.
It’s no secret (at least it shouldn’t be anyway), that JT has always had amazing charisma and stage presence, apparently even dating back to when he was just 11 years old. Before being cast on the All New Mickey Mouse Club and joining *NSYNC, the now 45 year-old pop star was a participant on the long-running talent series, Star Search, and believe it or not… performed Alan Jackson’s No. 1 song, “Love’s Got A Hold On You.”
Although he lost to Anna Nardona (who?) it might’ve been the best thing to ever happen to Timberlake and his massive career.
“It’s funny. If I had won on Star Search just one time, I would not have made the audition [for The All-New Mickey Mouse Club]. I think God has his master plan and he’ll lay it out for you. But you have to walk that road.”
