“nicotine” singer Ella Langley is about to take a giant leap within her country music career, announcing via social media today (June 3) that her debut album, hungover, will arrive on August 2, with its title track arriving on Friday (June 7) as well.
“my debut record “hungover” out 8.2.24. title track out this friday,” she wrote in an Instagram caption, accompanying a reel that featured clips of Langley spinning records, smoking cigarettes, playing pool and more. During this compilation, her voice is heard reciting a very special poem, written by the talented singer/songwriter alongside her mother, Heather:
“these stories
this moment
laughing at your choices
crying over your mistakes
realizing the thing you want, isn’t the thing you need
fiercely standing up for yourself
making it through heartbreak
not taking yourself so seriously
learning your self-worth
being your own worst enemy
turning the page
true love
growing out of the person you were, into the person you are now
growth is painful
growth is hard
it is beautiful
and it can leave you feeling, hungover.”
Langley’s fans were over the moon after hearing this announcement, anxiously awaiting her debut album ever since the release of her debut EP in 2023, featuring fan favorites like “Country Boy’s Dream Girl,” “That’s Why We Fight” (Featuring Koe Wetzel) and more. With her collaboration with Kameron Marlowe, “Strangers,” making waves on the charts as of late, some solo music was long overdue for Langley, sure to be equally as spectacular.
Naturally, said fans took to the comment section of the post to express their excitement, with one Instagram user writing, “I cannot wait for the world to hear these stories and find their own story inside them” and another writing, “This album is going to relate with so many people! I can’t wait!”
Along with this exciting announcement, the track list of hungover was also released to the public after weeks and weeks of anticipation, featuring pre-released tunes “paint the town blue” and “nicotine,” as well as soon-to-be released song “hungover,” of course. In addition to this, there will be two entirely acoustic tracks — “cowgirl don’t cry” and “broken in” — as well as a collaboration with Riley Green that everyone is just too thrilled to hear:
