Painting the full picture of this love triangle-fueled hit, Ella Langley has gifted fans with the official music video for her October 2025 single, “Choosin’ Texas.”
The song itself has already become a legendary track in country music, crowning Langley as the reigning star to spend the most time on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, beating out Taylor Swift’s record with four weeks at number one. The video lives up to this iconic status with a star-studded lineup of actors, including Yellowstone/Marshals’ star, Luke Grimes, along with Reese Witherspoon’s daughter, who was recently featured in Ransom Canyon, Ava Phillippe. And of course, it wouldn’t be complete without her co-writer Miranda Lambert and fellow tourmate, Kaitlin Butts, along with a few pop-up appearances from Wade Bowen, Tanner Usrey, and professional bull rider J.B. Mauney.
Officially airing today, on April 1, at 5:30 p.m. PST, contrary to some comments, the video was not an elaborate April Fools’ joke and is actually a cinematic masterpiece. One clever comment under the announcement post from @nashville_stacy put it best: “Taylor Sheridan already turned this into a 3-season storyline in his head.”
While the Yellowstone director did not play a hand in this western love scene drama, Langley herself actually directed the production alongside co-directors Wale Toney and Caylee Robillard (Langley’s long-time photographer). She also stars as one of the main love interests, of course, playing the new non-Texas girlfriend of Grimes.
Taking place in the historic stagecoach ballroom in Fort Worth, the video switches between the storyline of Grimes rekindling the flame with his Texas Ex and Langley strumming the song as she’s surrounded by two-stepping couples. Butts plays the sassy bathroom girl who forewarns Langley of her boyfriend’s past, and ultimately she hops into the band’s van with Lambert, who plays the stage act and is headed back to her hometown of Tennessee.
The visuals are pure Lone Star gold with Langley dawning fringe heavy outfits and Tecova boots, of course, in this honky tonk bar setting. Ending with a bang, the license plate hints at a potential easter egg reading “ICLYA,” which could be a nod to a song on the way, as the scene fades out with Langley singing the seemingly new lyrics, “it’s last call for us.”
This visual representation of the leading single off of Langley’s upcoming album, Dandelion, also comes just a little over a week away from its official release on April 10. With the title track, “Be Her,” and most recently “Loving Life Again” already dropped, fans have 14 unnamed songs to look forward to next Friday.
The Alabama native will also hit the road in celebration of a surefire Langley-led summer for her coinciding 2026 Dandelion tour starting May 7 in Toledo, Ohio. She’ll bring this earworm Texas anthem with her to all 16 dates, rounding out on August 15 fittingly in Fort Worth, Texas.
