With being famous comes the expectation of signing endless autographs for people. Of course, that sounds like a pretty glamorous gig from an outside perspective, but artists like Parker McCollum know all too well that the requests can get…interesting.
On a recently released Country Heat Weekly podcast episode, which was recorded live at CMA Fest 2025, McCollum sat down with hosts Kelly Sutton and Amber Anderson to discuss everything from fatherhood to his newly released self-titled album. Things took a hilarious turn when the question arose, “What is the strangest thing you’ve ever autographed?”
To which McCollum let out a massive sigh and disappointingly replied, “Can’t say that. It’s a body part.” Naturally, that answer sparks all kinds of speculation. And unfortunately for curious listeners, he never quite reveals the full story. But he does drop a few clues.
The follow-up question digs a little bit deeper with Sutton prying, “Is it a body part that was already exposed or just got exposed to you?” McCollum doesn’t hesitate with his response, “It was exposed when I saw it.”
He goes on to talk about some of the other craziest requests that fans have had, sharing, “I’ve signed a baby.” Which is an interesting visual to think about a baby smeared in Parker McCollum’s Sharpie signature.
As for that original mystery autograph, McCollum hints further, joking, “Golly, I’ve signed exactly what you’re thinking about right now.” While he never names the exact body part, fans can likely fill in the blanks.
Surely there are a number of odd items that the 33-year-old Texas native gets presented with, yet he admits that one of his biggest pet peeves is when fans get his signature tattooed, but rightfully so when they do it without warning him first
“Like people all the time are like, will you sign my arm, and then like they’ll come to another show and they’ll be like, I got it tattooed. And I’m like, why didn’t you tell me you were going to do that?”
While it’s not a new trend for die-hard fans to get their favorite celebrities’ autographs inked, most aren’t signing with tattoo-level precision in mind. It’s usually a rapid-fire task for artists like McCollum, so keep that in mind next time you want some permanent artwork from the Limestone Kid.
Since that CMA Fest interview, McCollum has officially dropped his self-titled album on June 27, and it’s already being hailed as some of his strongest work yet. Luckily, for fans hoping to hear songs from the phenomenal tracklist live (and add to McCollum’s unique list of interesting autographed items), the “Handle On You” singer has a long list of upcoming tour dates for his corresponding self-titled tour.
