“It’s been a wonderful run for me from the beginning over 30 years ago.”
In a recent Facebook post to celebrate the new year, John Michael Montgomery officially announced he’s “winding down” his touring career with plans to retire after 2025.
“I hope everyone enjoyed bringing in 2024 and may it be a wonderful one for all my friends out there. For me it will be the start of my farewell tour as I have decided to wind down my touring career over this year and 2025.
I’ve been fortunate and blessed to be able to do what I love for so many years. Please join me on my journey as I say goodbye to the road life. And thanks so much for your support for the last 3 decades, it’s meant so much me.”
The 58-year old singer released his first single, “Life’s A Dance,” back in September of 1992 and in my opinion, is responsible for some of the greatest love songs in all of country music, including “I Can Love You Like That” and “I Swear.”
Montgomery currently has seven #1 hits under his belt and has released ten studio albums. Although he hasn’t maintained relevancy since the release of his last album back in 2008, many of his iconic hits are still beloved and very-much recognizable today.
If you’ve never gotten a chance to see the “Be My Baby Tonight” singer in concert, this may be your last chance. While no official tour announcement has been made, you can view the list of dates he currently has set for 2024 here.
