The bell-bottom queen is hitting the big screen once again, thanks to a new partnership with Netflix.
It was just announced this morning that the global streaming platform has acquired Lainey Wilson’s documentary, Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool. Directed by Amy Scott, its official release is set for April 22, 2026, following a behind-the-scenes look into the singer’s experience as a modern-day country star.
In true inspirational Lainey fashion, she shared, “I couldn’t be more excited that this documentary is going to be on Netflix.” Adding, “This was such a special project to make, and I hope that folks who watch it see that no dream is too big and that staying true to who you are will always lead you exactly where you’re meant to be.”
This theme of self-identity and staying true to yourself seems to be the backbone of the film. Apparently, it will detail the cataclysmic rise to fame during her career and how these mantras helped lead to her success and relationship with her fans.
The documentary project following her one-woman show was a collaborative effort produced by Angus Wall, Terry Leonard, Kent Kubena, Thomas Tull, Jillian Share, Jason Owen, Jen Gorton, Mandelyn Monchick, Josh Miller, Katie Admire, Jillian Apfelbaum, and Nicolas Gordon, who will executive produce. Director Amy Scott explained, “What began as a fever dream project became an intimate journey with one of the most dynamic and fascinating artists of today.” Expanding with, “Lainey’s story is deeply personal, wildly inspiring, and rooted in authenticity, and I can’t imagine a better platform to share it with the world.”
Wilson reshared a screenshot of the original article from Deadline to her Instagram story with the caption, “could not be more excited for y’all to catch this documentary on @netflix come April 22!!”

This project will mark Wilson’s second documentary following her last partnership with Hulu for Lainey Wilson: Bell Bottom Country back in May 2024 that mainly covered her upbringing and initial rise to fame. Given the catastrophic success of this past year between her Whirlwind World Wide tour, continued success of the Whirlwind Album, and 2025 CMA Entertainer of the Year win, there’s certainly a lot of new content to cover since the last film.
