Phew, it just doesn’t quit.
On top of recently surpassing Taylor Swift to become the artist with the most weeks at No. 1 on the billboard 200 chart this decade (21 weeks), Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” has now become the longest running No. 1 Country song in history on Billboard’s Hot 100, surpassing “Lady” by Kenny Rogers from 1980.
Spending it’s 7th week at the top spot, “Last Night” also tops the Country Airplay chart for a third week, having become the first track to top the Hot 100 and Country Airplay simultaneously.
On top of all of that, Morgan’s 2021 release, “Dangerous:” The Double Album,” although not consecutively, spent ten weeks at No. 1, making him the first male soloist in history to have two consecutive albums do so, since the Billboard 200 began publishing on a regular, weekly basis in 1956.
I’m sure there will be another few records broken here within the next few weeks…
