One record at a time…
Whether you love him or hate him, Morgan Wallen keeps breaking records and racking up massive accolades.
His latest 36-song album, “One Thing At A Time,” has now spent the last 11 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, and according to Billboard, no artist has done it since the Titanic Soundtrack spent 16 consecutive weeks at the top spot in 1988.
One Thing at a Time is also the first album of any genre to spend its first 11 weeks at No. 1 since Whitney Houston in 1987 and as of today, he also becomes the artist with the most weeks at No. 1 (nonconsecutive) on the same chart, this decade, surpassing Taylor Swift (21 weeks).
Swift spent eight weeks at No. 1 with Folklore in 2020, four with Evermore, two weeks with Fearless (Taylor’s Version) in 2021, one week with Red (Taylor’s Version) in 2021 and five with Midnights in 2022.
On top of all of that, Morgan’s 2021 release, “Dangerous:” The Double Album,” although not consecutively, spent ten weeks at No. 1, making him the first male soloist in history to have two consecutive albums do so, since the Billboard 200 began publishing on a regular, weekly basis in 1956.
Congrats, Wallen.
