It appears Morgan Wallen is finally taking some time for himself.
After wrapping up his massive ‘One Night At a Time’ world tour back in October, the “Last Night” singer shared a video yesterday exclusively to ticket buyers thanking his fans for attending and updating them on what he’s been up to.
“I just wanted to say thank you personally and give you an opportunity to have something cool at the same time. I’m working. I’m taking a little time for myself but I’m working also. Can’t wait to get back out there and see y’all at some point next year.”
The 31-year-old singer/songwriter recently made history, becoming the first artist ever to earn five #1s on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart in a calendar year with “Mamaw’s House,” “Man Made A Bar,” “I Had Some Help,” “Cowgirls” and “Lies Lies Lies.”
Additionally, the “Last Night” singer also became the second artist and the first since 1974 to score back-to-back Billboard Songs of the Summer with “I Had Some Help” and “Last Night” receiving the honor in subsequent years.
On July 4th, he also broke the record for the most attended country concert in the U.K. during his performance at BST Hyde Park which saw a crowd of over 50,000 people. And if that wasn’t enough, he also set Neyland Stadium’s record previously held by the Jackson 5 for the largest-attended weekend with over 150,000 attendees across his two nights.
With how busy Morgan has been, it’s no wonder he hasn’t had time to post on social media or share more “update” videos as frequent as he used to. With that said, what IS surprising is the superstar has still yet to address his big win for Entertainer of the Year at last month’s CMA Awards. And at this point, I don’t think he’s ever going to.
It’s clear there’s still bad blood between him and the Country Music Association, even though he did perform in 2023 alongside Post Malone and HARDY. Regardless, the CMA’s need Wallen more than he needs them, especially after drawing in their lowest ratings in CMA history this year.
