As each day passes, it becomes more apparent that Morgan Wallen’s I’m The Problem is going to continue to smash records both in country music and abroad. After spending its third straight week at #1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 albums chart, Wallen’s fourth studio album just became the best-selling album in 2025 in the US by total units in just three weeks.
According to Chart Data, one of the leading chart insiders on X, I’m The Problem surpassed Kendrick Lamar’s GNX which was released on November 22, 2024.
Riding the massive popularity of his 2024 smash hit, “Not Like Us” as well as his halftime performance at Super Bowl LIX, Lamar has sold over 2 million album-equivalent units and has spent three non-consecutive weeks on top of the Billboard 200 with GNX.
Despite the massive bump due to the aforementioned Super Bowl performance, it still was not enough to keep pace with I’m The Problem which debuted with a staggering 493,000 units in its first week at #1 on the Billboard 200.
Wallen would follow up the successful first week with an additional 286,000 and 246,000 album-equivalent units for I’m The Problem in its second and third weeks respectively, bringing its total sales up to a staggering 1,025,000 units in just 24 days.
This achievement is just one of many that Wallen procured upon I’m The Problem’s release with the “Last Night” singer most notably breaking his previous record of most songs (36) charted on the Billboard Hot 100 in a single week with 37 total entries.
He also became the first country artist ever to occupy the Hot 100’s top 3 spots with “What I Want,” (featuring Tate McRae) “Just In Case” and “I’m The Problem” topping the chart. In fact, he became just the sixth artist ever to notch the feat, joining the likes of The Beatles, Taylor Swift, Drake and more.
Additionally, Wallen set another record for country artists. In addition to the three aforementioned songs topping the Hot 100, the “Last Night” singer had a staggering six songs in the Top 10, making him the first-ever country artist to chart six or more songs inside the Top 10. Wallen becomes just the fifth artist ever to accomplish this, joining the likes of Swift, Lamar, Drake and 21 Savage.
