Southern Alabama country-duo, Muscadine Bloodline has a running series on their social media where they cover songs posing the question, “What if ___ was a Muscadine Bloondline song?” This includes everything from Noah Kahan’s “The Great Divide” to Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” and their addicting rendition of Turnpike Troubadours’ “Every Girl.”
The boys, Charlie Muncaster and Gary Stanton, recently returned with their latest installment covering an iconic staple on every alt playlist back in 2006, Taking Back Sunday’s “MakeDamnSure”— or, as someone so cleverly coined their version in the comment section, “MakeDagumSure.” Bringing their gorgeous harmonies to what appears to be someone’s acoustically perfect room mid-home improvement, their stripped-down performance has everyone in the comments fiending for more pop punk covers.
Luckily for those who are new to the Muscadine Bloodline fanbase and have now fallen in love with their version, they dropped a four-track mixtape back in 2023, Teenage Angst, including the top fan favorite, “Adam’s Song,” along with “Jamie All Over.” Their latest video now has everyone rallying for a part two to the EP or a full-blown “country goes punk” album.
Luckily for everyone who’s now fallen down this punk country crossover rabbit hole, a couple of weeks ago they did a rendition of All Time Low’s “Dear Maria, Count Me In,” which also deserves a listen.
