Now THIS is a cool video to watch.
While casually scrolling on Facebook, I came across this old video of Chris Stapleton performing Lonestar’s classic hit, “Amazed,” from WAY before he became the superstar he is today.
Amazed is one of many Country songs I grew up on and still love as an adult. Written by Marv Green, Aimee Mayo and Chris Lindsey, the track was released in March of 1999 as the second single from their third studio album “Lonely Grill.”
It went on to spend eight weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Country chart, making the power Ballard their biggest song to date.
Nowadays, the 45 year-old Country star could cover just about anyone’s song and put them to shame so it does feel a little strange to admit this, but I’m not sure I’d rather hear anyone other than lead singer Richie McDonald sing this. Still, it’ll shock you to see Chris Stapleton 20 years younger without his signature beard.
Check out the cover video below and whether ya love it or hate it, it was all part of the journey that helped make Stapleton one of the biggest artists in all of music.
