If you haven’t listened to Vincent Mason yet, there’s no better time than today.
After a busy year that included going on tour with Gavin Adcock, Luke Bryan and Ashley Cooke, being shouted out by John Mayer on his SiriusXM show, Life With John Mayer, and racking up over 60 million streams on his breakout hit, “Hell is a Dancefloor,” the 23-year-old singer/songwriter has been making quite the name for himself in the genre.
Mason began teasing “Speak of the Devil” all the way back in September, quickly garnering attention from fans begging for its release. After many different posts that brought in hundreds of thousands of views, the “Train of Thought” singer took to Instagram last Friday to give fans what they wanted and announced the release of the track.
Discussing the track, Mason said, “It’s not every day that you pull together a song with someone who has never written before. To be able to have my friend, Sutton Smith, get to have a first-hand experience on what the writing process looks like and then for him to receive his first songwriting cut makes this a moment and a memory that we’ll never forget.”
Written by Mason, the aforementioned Smith and Aaron Armstrong, the track looks to be another hit for the Georgia native with a silky smooth vocal delivery and a chorus that simply begs you to turn it up and sing along. There’s no doubt that Mason is quickly becoming one of the premier rising acts in the genre, and he proves it once again here on “Speak of the Devil.”
