The best of the best.
Back in August of last year, George Strait, along with Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town, played back to back shows at the Nissan Stadium In Nashville, Tennessee.
Although Chris and LBG got to finish their sets, The King’s was cut short the second night due to lightning in the vicinity, leaving fans frustrated that they paid for a full show but received an hour and a half less time from George compared to the night before.
While I probably would’ve been just as equally frustrated, I would hope that I would’ve purchased tickets for the Friday show if I had gotten the chance to go…because not only did the King apparently play 33 songs, the crowd got to witness Chris join him on stage to perform one of my favorite Strait songs of all time, “Amarillo By Morning.”
Despite the rain, the fans seemed to be sticking it out and having a good time. And with George being 71 years old and only playing a total of six stadium shows last year, you would’ve had to drag my ass out of there.
