Just last week it was confirmed that HARDY and Nickelback would be teaming up for the next installment of CMT Crossroads.
While the entire episode won’t air until Saturday, April 6th, as part of the networks CMT Music Awards weekend programming block, we received a little taste of what we should expect from the episode, and that’s high energy.
On top of HARDY’s recent #1 single at country radio, “Truck Bed,” it will also feature performances of Nickelback’s “Savin’ Me” and “Animals,” as well as the country rocker’s “Give Heaven Some Hell.” The pair also reportedly recorded a mashup of both of their “Rockstar” singles.
While HARDY released a half country, half rock album back in January of last year, the 33 year-old Mississippi native has plans to release his first full rock album sometime before his “QUIT!!” tour kicks off in Rogers, Arkansas, this May.
This isn’t the first time HARDY and Nickelback have shared the stage together, however. They also performed “Sold Out” at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville last August on Nickelback’s Get Rollin’ Tour. You can watch that, as well as other surprise performances that included Jason Aldean, Chris Daughtry, Jelly Roll and more, here.
As far as this performance goes, Nickelback frontman, Chad Kroeger, lends his vocals on the second verse, which in my opinion doesn’t really fit the song, but when it becomes his turn to belt the chorus, he absolutely KILLS it. See for yourself and check out the performance, below.
HARDY’S “HIXTAPE: Vol. 3: DIFFTAPE” drops tonight and features a MASSIVE lineup of today’s biggest country singers, as well as veterans from the past. You can view them here.
