After making headlines on Wednesday with an intimate performance on the streets of Davenport, Iowa, due to a fire alarm cutting her set short, Sierra Ferrell continued her Shoot For The Moon Tour in Salt Lake City Thursday night in style.
Performing to a sold-out crowd at Library Square, Ferrell treated fans to a plethora of tracks from the reigning Grammy Americana Album of the Year, Trail of Flowers. From “I Could Drive You Crazy” to “I’ll Come Off The Mountain” to “Lighthouse,” which also won a Grammy for Best American Roots Performance, the West Virginia native proved once again why she’s one of the most exciting voices in the genre today.
After performing the aforementioned Grammy-winner, “Lighthouse,” Ferrell shocked the crowd by bringing out none other than former tourmate and Utah native, Post Malone, for a performance of “Never Love You Again.” The track, which was undoubtedly one of the highlights of Malone’s debut country album, F-1 Trillion, had been a mainstay throughout his recent Big A** Stadium Tour due to Ferrell opening along with Jelly Roll.
Later in the night, Malone, beer and cigarette in hand, would return to the stage when Ferrell performed a barn-burning rendition of “Fox Hunt” to add some percussion on a bass drum.
The 4x Grammy winner would wrap up the night with an encore consisting of her breakout hit, “In Dreams,” and a cover of Kris Kristopherson’s 1970 track, “Me and Bobby McGee.”
Ferrell still has plenty of dates throughout the rest of the year on her Shoot For The Moon Tour. Upcoming shows include the following:
