Riley Green’s grandmother may be the ultimate prankster, but it sounds like she won’t be winning the “Wing Woman of the Year” title.
For context, in a recent interview clip from the radio show Katie & Company, every woman’s country man crush, Riley Green, shared a hilarious story about his grandma, Lola Jean. He tells host Katie Neal that while playing at a smaller show a few years back in Huntsville, Alabama, his grandma was in the audience, and in typical concert fashion, someone threw a bra up on the stage.
Green jokingly picked up the undergarment on stage and proclaimed, “Grandmother, what are you…” insinuating that it was his grandmother’s bra. In response, a few years later, Grandma Lola Jean had some of her own tricks up her sleeve. Green goes on to talk about the shockingly large cups (no, not tea cups) but bra cups he found in her home.
“Fast forward, two years, I guess I had a girlfriend at the time and she was at my house, and like looking through my pantry and there was a BRA, still the tag on it and each whatever you wanna call it… each receptacle was this big”
To demonstrate if you need a visual, in the clip, green describes the ‘receptacles’ as about twice the size of his head. Understandably, his girlfriend had to have been a bit confused and concerned, and questions, “What is this?”
I’m not even sure how you would explain that in that situation, but Green clarified that his grandma had bought the gigantic bra to take to one of her grandsons’ shows to throw on stage as a joke. Why she put it in Green’s house, we don’t quite know, but she is absolutely diabolical for that setup.
Green had to explain to the poor girl that the bra was his grandma’s, and I don’t know what’s worse– how unbelievable that claim probably seemed or the thought of why your boyfriend has one of his grandma’s gigantic bras in his home. While the relationship didn’t seem to work out in the end for the “Worst Way” singer, the silly situation has left Green with a lasting impact.
“I think about that a lot when bras get thrown on stage.”
Just know that if you plan to throw your brassiere on stage, it probably won’t get you anywhere with the 36-year-old star. He will most likely just be thinking about his grandma. However, luckily for fans you can witness all of Green’s future tour stories in the making on his Damn Country Music Tour that is continuig throughout the rest of the summer and fall.
