Rackin’ em up.
Morgan Wallen’s 2018 debut album, “If I Know Me,” has now sold over 3 million units, officially earning a triple platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America on November 3rd.
In addition, five songs from the same record have also earned new certifications, including his massive hit, “Whiskey Glasses,” which has now sold over 9 million units, just one step away from being certified diamond.
In case you weren’t aware; when an artist receives a gold certification, it means the single or album has sold at least 500,000 units since its release, while a platinum cert means it has sold at least 1 million.
A unit defines the consumption of music that equals the purchase of one album copy. With the rise of streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music over the last decade, you can no longer base certifications and other achievements solely based on physical copies so consumption includes streaming and song downloads in addition to traditional album sales.
It was also announced earlier this week that Morgan will be teaming up with Post Malone and HARDY at the 2023 CMA Awards to perform a medley of country classics. The award show will be hosted by Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning and will air live on Wednesday, November 8th.
Here’s a list of Morgan’s six new RIAA certs as of November 3rd:
- Whiskey Glasses – 9x Platinum
- Up Down – 5x Platinum
- If I Know Me (album) – 3x Platinum
- The Way I Talk – 3x Platinum
- Little Rain – Platinum
- Gone Girl – Gold

Just to add to this well-informing article, Wallen’s total of RIAA “Singles” units moved +5M, and that moved him in overall rank from the 23rd spot to now being tied with Lady Gaga at #20; and from #3 country core act all-time, to #2 (passed Luke Bryan and still trails only Luke Combs 90.5M vs 82.5M). BTW, he will soon have a massive add of Singles unit whenever his One Thing At A Time gets its first comprehensive certifications.
