Morgan Wallen and Lil Durk are apparently teaming up once again.
After previously releasing “Broadway Girls” together back in December of 2021, and then “Stand By Me” in May of last year, it appears Morgan Wallen and rapper, Lil Durk, are cooking up something bigger this time around.
While walking the red carpet with his wife last night at the 66th annual Grammy Awards, Lil Durk was asked by ET Online who the next person he plans on working with is. After name-dropping Morgan Wallen, he confirmed there’s a collaboration album on the way:
“There’s gonna be a collab album soon. So that means I’ll see you again next year.”
While he didn’t share any more details, Lil Durk implied the album would be released sometime this year. Not only have the two released a couple songs together over the past three years, but they also performed together live when Morgan surprised the crowd at Wrigley field and brought out Durk to perform “Stand By Me.” You can watch that performance here.
The two have also hung out outside of the studio, when they went fishing together last May. Morgan uploaded a photo to his Instagram account with the caption “Durk done pulled up and taught me how to fish.”
Morgan clearly isn’t afraid to cross genre lines. The 30 year-old country singer not only incorporates elements from pop and hip-hop into his own music, but he also recently made a cameo appearance in Drake’s music video for “You Broke My Heart,” which has now amassed almost 9 million views on Youtube.
Although Morgan had one of the biggest albums, all-genre, and the most streamed song of 2023 with “Last Night,” he was nominated for zero Grammy awards. We’ll see if the academy has a change of heart next year.
