Luke’s 18th #1 to start his career (20th counting features).
So happy this was a single. Perfect timing for it to get a chance.
Written by Dave Turnbull and Randy Montana
Witten by Randy Montana and Dave Turnbull (one of only three songs Luke wasn’t a co-writer on from ‘Gettin Old‘), Where The Wild Things Are provides a unique spin on what still sounds like a typical Combs song. It’s upbeat, yet tells an emotional story of the bond of two brothers, until one hits a guardrail and tragically doesn’t make it out alive.
In my opinion, Wild Things is easily one of the best songs off of Luke’s fourth studio album, and even one of the best country songs of 2023. At this point, I think it’s safe to say, however, almost any single Luke releases is bound to go No. 1.
