Easily the best thing to happen at Globe Life Field this season.
Despite coming off a World Series win over the Arizona Diamondbacks last year, the Texas Rangers have had quite the post-championship hangover this season. Sitting at 33-39 and in 3rd place in the AL West with their top pitchers, Jacob DeGrom and Max Scherzer on the IL, the Rangers haven’t had a lot to write home about.
While things didn’t change on the field tonight with a 14-2 blowout loss to the New York Mets, Globe Life Field was blessed with one of the most unexpected crossovers you’ll ever witness: Texas’ own Mariachi De Los Texas Rangers band covering none other than Creed’s certified gold hit, “Higher” during their Mariachi Monday performance.
For those unaware, the Rangers took part in the current Creed renaissance that we are currently experiencing last October during their World Series run when they famously listened to the rock band before every game during the postseason. They fittingly sang “Higher” while popping bottles celebrating their World Series win in Game 5.
As for the mariachi band’s performance itself, words cannot truly describe the absolute perfection that was captured. Check it out here:
