As of this Sunday morning on June 23rd, Morgan Wallen has officially deactivated his Instagram account containing almost 8 million followers.
While this could simply be just a move to drown out distractions and direct his focus towards his personal life or new music, it hasn’t stopped the internet from going into a frenzy and speculating that he’s got some big announcement coming soon.
Earlier this month, the 31 year-old country star announced the fan favorite track, “Lies Lies Lies,” will officially be released on the Fourth of July. With that date just around the corner, many fans are suggesting that he’ll be surprise-dropping a new record as well. While I believe that’s wishful thinking, hey…anything is on the table.
The Chasin’ You singer also took to Instagram a few days ago to share his first “update” with fans in a lonnng time. During the video posted to his story, Morgan let fans know he’s been in the studio, thanked ’em for their support, and also assured us he’s been “staying out of trouble.”
We posted the news to our Instagram account just moments ago, and here’s what some of our followers have had to say thus far:
“Took a page outta Zach Bryan’s playbook.”
“New album 4th of July?”
“Everyone needs a break sometimes…especially when people are constantly on you…”
“He’s about to drop.”
Me personally? I wouldn’t expect a surprise album to drop on the upcoming holiday if I were you. Maybe an album announcement? But all of this talk and speculation could be exactly why Morgan deactivated his account in the first place. At this moment his Facebook, Twitter and TikTok accounts are all up and running.
