Monster numbers.
For years, Billy Strings was one of the most underrated artists not just in the country/bluegrass scene but in music in general. With face-melting guitar work and great songwriting to boot, many wondered when Strings would have his “moment.”
After collaborations with Luke Combs, Dierks Bentley, Willie Nelson and most recently Post Malone on F-1 Trillion, it seems like Strings has finally received the commercial success he undoubtedly deserves with the release of his brand new album, Highway Prayers. The album sold 19,000 units, String’s biggest career sales week, and skyrocketed him to the top of multiple Billboard charts.
Yesterday, the Michigan native took to Instagram to post all of the Billboard music charts that he is currently on top of, and spoiler alert, it’s a lot.
The “Dust in a Baggie” singer is sitting at #1 in seven separate Billboard charts including Top Album Sales, Vinyl Albums and Blue Grass Albums. A full list of Strings’ current chart toppers includes the following:
- #1 Top Album Sales
- #1 Vinyl Albums
- #1 Bluegrass Albums
- #1 Current Country Album Sales
- #1 Americana/Folk Album Sale
- #1 Americana Radio Album Chart
- #1 Most Added at Triple A Radio this week (“Gild the Lily”)
- #2 Indie Store Album Sales
- #3 Digital Album Sales
- #16 on Billboard Artist 100
- #8 Top Country Album Chart
- #22 Billboard 200
Highway Prayers also became the first bluegrass album in 22 years to nab #1 on the all-genre Top Album Sales chart since the O Brother Where Art Thou? soundtrack spent two weeks at #1 in March of 2002.
