“How Much Money Do You Need?” – Luke Combs Shares Why He Values Making Concert Tickets Affordable For Fans… Even If It Makes Him Enemies

once you get past x amount, what’s even the difference? Like the Robin Hood of country music, Luke Combs continues to cement his admirable reputation after speaking out about wanting to keep his concert tickets affordable for fans.

In a world where seeing your favorite artist live basically means taking out a second mortgage, long gone is the widespread accessibility of attending concerts. Despite his status as one of the highest-selling country artists of all time, Combs hasn’t lost sight of his humble roots, working to ensure his shows remain attainable for fans.

On a recent podcast interview for The Zach Sang Show, this topic was brought up with Sang posing the question, “Why is it worth potentially making enemies within the industry to protect the cost of that ticket?” To which Combs honestly replied, “It’s for the fans, dude.”

According to Combs’ knowledge, he doesn’t believe he’s crossed any boundaries yet or made it onto any blacklists because of this testament to the fans, saying, “I don’t think that it really affects that many people outside of me ultimately.” Even though the “Hurricane” singer is selling out arenas, he humbly admitted, “How much money do you need to make?”

Combs went on to discuss how, beyond the scope of his high-profile career, he otherwise leads a very simplistic lifestyle. The 36-year-old isn’t out chasing big bank account numbers or a new Lamborghini. “My kids, my friends, my family, my job, those are the things that I derive my self-worth and my happiness from, not from having money.”

He then attributed his fame, fortune and immense gratitude to his fan base, saying, “They are the that I’m here, they are the reason that I get to do my job, there is no show without them, there are no records without them, there’s no nothing without them.” He even used the metaphor of referring to the fans as his ‘boss’, crediting the fact that he lives by the idea that they don’t GET to see him, he GETS to play for them.

He added, “I feel indebted to my fans, I feel indebted to my team, I feel indebted to my family, and that’s the end, and if you ever lose sight of that, you’re in trouble.” While Combs’ statements from this interview reflect his endlessly modest demeanor, many users in the comments still had some beef with the resale ticket prices and ticket company upcharges that tend to be an issue beyond the artist’s control. Both Live Nation and Ticketmaster are currently under fire as an antitrust case continues to reach a settlement surrounding these criminally high fees.

Nonetheless, Combs is still on this quest to offer some sort of cheaper alternative. He’s been vocal in the past about the fact that if he had it his way, he’d go around playing free shows at local dives. Unfortunately, while he hasn’t taken things back to his roots of playing SEC bars yet, the three-time Grammy award-nominated artist is set to head out on his 2026 My Kinda Saturday Night Tour.

Combs will spend the summer performing at 16 different stadium stops worldwide kicking off this Saturday, March 21, in Las Vegas, following the highly anticipated release of his upcoming album, The Way I Am, dropping this Friday, March 20. Joining him on the road are special guests Dierks Bentley, Ty Myers, Jake Worthington, and more.
