After over seven years of having the word ‘butt’ plastered across his wrist, it seems Jason Aldean has finally removed the tattoo fans once roasted him for.
Back in 2019, the “Tattoos On This Town” singer added to his collection of many inked pieces, paying tribute to his son, daughter, and wife Brittany with three small designs across his body. Well, unfortunately for the latter, after Aldean shared a shot of her abbreviated name “Britt” drawn out in cursive across his wrist, fans couldn’t help but point out that the r and the i blended together into a u.
Hence why there’s no denying… it kinda looks like Aldean is repping a “butt” tattoo. And hey, there’s nothin’ wrong with that (objectively).

Showing off the tattoo dedicated to his “baby mama,” as he called her in the original Instagram post, Aldean’s rear-end tribute design was immediately clocked by fans online. It even inspired an entire thread on Reddit’s ‘sh*tty tattoos’ page, where users had plenty to say about the cursive design.
He’s kept the ink for nearly eight years now, mostly wearing chain bracelets over the top of the arm that also feature a Roman numeral design and his son’s name “Memphis” across his forearm. That is, up until yesterday, when Brittany shared a behind-the-scenes look on her Instagram story of Aldean getting the infamous wrist tattoo removed.
While Brittany doesn’t zoom in enough to show exactly which tattoo Aldean was having removed, I can’t help but connect the dots and assume it was the same tribute to his wife that fans once got a good laugh from. And considering the two don’t appear to be on the rocks and are still very much married, there’s really only one obvious reason he’d want the design gone.
But now I also need to know who petitioned for it to be removed: Aldean or Brittany? In her first story captioned “about to get his tattoo removed…he is NOT a fan,” she asked Aldean how he felt ahead of the process.
Aldean very plainly states, “it doesn’t feel awesome,” and to her then asking, “excited?” he hilariously replies, “no not at all.” Luckily, by the end of the presumably painful electric zaps, Aldean showed off his clean-as-a-whistle, untattooed wrist.
“I mean, it’s small, thank God, but it does feel like there was a blow torch stuck to me for like five seconds.” That just about convinced me to never follow through on any of my impulsive tattoo dreams.
I feel like the cursive design’s unfortunate, “butt”-adjacent spelling could’ve been fixed with a simple dot above the “i,” but hey, maybe Aldean has something better in mind to honor his wife of 11 years.
