Asking for a friend: how does one get into demolition derbying? I have a feeling it’d be great for anger management…
Continuing his 2026 touring partnership with Monster Energy, the popular energy drink and motorsports brand just shared a brand-new video of Morgan Wallen getting behind the wheel of a demolition derby car— and man, does it look fun. In the short behind-the-scenes vlog, Wallen sits down for a confessional-style interview in a deposition room, where he’s questioned about some of the footage from his day out on the “track.”
They start off by asking him, “People often call you MW is that correct?” to which Wallen admits, “People often call me…many different things.” Continuing the mock-interrogation, the man behind the camera continues to pull out his laptop with footage of the rowdy driver sitting in a car labelled “MW” whipping around the vehicle.
With crushed Monster cans to his side and strapped into a branded helmet, bodycam and dash-cam footage showcase the “I’m The Problem” singer smashing into fellow derby cars left and right— and even flipping one over. Wallen, acting like he’s never seen the footage before, giggles and admits, “There’s some pretty wild stuff in here.”
The interviewer then states, “To me, this looks like a guy who’s trying to fill a hole in his heart,” to which Wallen chuckles and responds, “Wow, what a take; looks like fun to me. I mean, you ever had fun in your life?” Ending the video with a bang, the Sneedville native is seen walking away from his smashed piece of metal before it erupts into flames, sending a massive explosion of fire into the air.
Continuing the bit, he proclaims, “MW you say? He seems like a pretty cool cat.” By the looks of it, Wallen had a pretty d*mn fun day on set if you ask me.
The video hilariously ends with the investigator slamming his laptop shut after Wallen refuses to own up to his rambunctious behavior in the derby ring. Wallen then casually walks away, answering the phone with, “Yo, it’s MW.”
With Wallen largely staying out of the spotlight over the past couple of months following the end of his 2026 tour in early August, fans will surely be excited to see the “Been By Now” singer back on their screens. I’m also curious to see whether he keeps the racing motif going into his inevitable next era.
