Apparently in 2026, anything’s possible.
Gavin Adcock is out drinkin’ beers with Charley Crockett, and somehow Kacey Musgraves and Miranda Lambert have managed to squash their decade-long beef. While neither of the latter two has ever been able to pinpoint exactly why their mutual disdain lingered for so many years, I have a feeling it goes all the way back to Miranda recording Kacey’s co-written “Mama’s Broken Heart,” followed by years of petty tension.
And when you’re talking about two highly accomplished female powerhouses in country music who essentially came up in the same small circle, you’re bound to butt heads with someone eventually, whether that small town is in East Texas or Nashville. But truly, what better way to repair the relationship than by bonding over two things they both know and love well: horses and divorce?
Earlier this year in May, Musgraves broke the internet with the announcement of their brand-new collaboration, “Horses and Divorces,” and the ladies got to bring it to life on stage once again during Kacey’s Austin tour stop last night. With the “Dry Spell” singer continuing the remainder of her Middle of Nowhere Tour through the end of October and Miranda fresh off the release of her new country-disco album, Crisco, the appearance made for the perfect homestate surprise.
With the two hugging before their performance, I think at this point we can truly consider all the bad blood “whiskey under the bridge.” Selfishly, I’m glad they finally squashed the beef this year because there’s no denying their voices blend ridiculously well together.
Musgraves has two more lonestar state shows ahead of her this weekend, heading to Dallas for two back to back concerts at American Airlines Center on Saturday (Oct 10) and Sunday (Oct 11). And after last night’s special appearance got fans’ hopes up, they’re already wondering what other surprises Kacey might have up her sleeve.
