Fresh off of the announcement of an HBO Max documentary that releases April 7, Jason Isbell releases Middle of the Morning. The track is the second single off of his upcoming album, Weathervanes, slated for a June 9th release date.
The Cover Me Up singer is once again collaborating with his band, The 400 Unit for this upcoming album similar to his last two records Reunions and The Nashville Sound.
Middle of the Morning is exactly what you’d expect from an Isbell track. It’s full of imagery, metaphor and includes an evolving chorus, begging a relisten. The production choices are also excellent, pairing clean electric guitar licks with a lively piano beautifully.
