Late last night, Jimmy Buffett passed away surrounded by family and friends at the age of 76. Just hours after the news, TMZ reported that sources with direct knowledge to the situation have revealed the singers cause of death.
Four years ago, Jimmy was diagnosed with skin cancer that turned into lymphoma, an aggressive form of cancer that quickly spreads throughout the body, and as of now, that has been reported as the official cause of death. No additional details have been provided, including the exact location of his passing.
Back in May of this year, Jimmy was forced to cancel a show in South Carolina after being hospitalized but no specifics were released. As of now, one could only assume the “illness” that caused the show to be rescheduled had much to do with his prior diagnosis.
The statement posted to his official website reads; “Jimmy passed away peaccfully on the night of September 1st surrounded by his family, friends, music and dogs.
He lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many.”
