August 24, 2019. Before he was one of the biggest stars in the country genre, the former Navy member, Zach Bryan, took his friends to Florida and produced a 12-song, fully independent project titled DeAnn. Last night at the 17th ACM Honors, Alan Jackson was presented with the ACM’s Poets Award, an honor presented to a songwriter for “outstanding and longstanding musical and/or lyrical contributions throughout their career. A plethora of today’s country artists covered Jackson’s hits throughout the night with Jordan Davis performing “Chattahoochee,” Carly Pearce performing “Don’t Rock the Jukebox” and most notably, Eric Church performing a stripped-back version of his 1990 hit, “Chasin’ That Neon Rainbow.” In typical Church fashion, he made the song his own, delivering a soulful acoustic rendition of the song. What a moment. It’s been well-documented that Jason Aldean has been a huge supporter of the armed forces. With both his father and grandfather serving in the military, the “Fly Over Sates” singer has often honored members both on and off the stage over the years. Back on August 14, the People’s Choice Country Awards turned heads when they announced the nominees for this year’s ceremony.
