When Toby Keith passed away on February 5 due to a long battle with stomach cancer, it shocked the country music industry. The “Should’ve Been a Cowboy” singer was mourned by millions of fans and colleagues alike over the past two months, receiving a posthumous induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame as well as an appearance on HARDY’s newest “HIXTAPE” album. From breakout albums from Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley and Josh Turner to underrated records from legends such as George Strait and Brooks & Dunn, the year had plenty of notable releases. “High and lonesome, tall and strong…” Wyatt Flores finished out his Life Lessons tour in style tonight in Asheville, North Carolina, bringing out fellow rising indie star, Sam Barber, for a killer rendition of Tyler Childers’ unreleased hit, “Jersey Giant.” Before the show, Flores shared that he played fan-favorite, “Astronaut,” for the first time 11 months ago in Asheville. HARDY’s HIXTAPE, Vol. 3: DIFFTAPE has been released with an all-star cast ranging from Brooks & Dunn and Reba to Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen. The over two dozen features on the 17-track album are chalked full of country legends; however, one name in particular sticks out: Toby Keith.
