Given the undeniably infectious charm of their first co-headlining show in Athens this past weekend, Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan are keeping the momentum going with their brand new Double Down tour.
The two Georgia natives took to social media this morning to announce the extension of their Sanford Stadium Saturday, April 25 show, where they surprised the crowd with an unprecedented layout of sharing the stage throughout the night. Per their caption, it was inevitable to run it back once more: “We had so much fun the first time, we had to do it again.”
Highlighting the same intro skit in their announcement post that was played at the Between the Hedges concert, Bryan and Aldean hilariously fight over who should have the privilege of opening the shows. After some light-hearted bickering and a faulty coin toss that lands on its side, the two agree to team up as the main acts, leading to this unique performance layout.
As long-time friends in the industry, Bryan shared his enthusiastic anticipation for the upcoming shows, “If our time in Georgia was a barometric measurement of what’s ahead, these shows with Jason will make it one of the best touring years of my life. And the fans will hopefully feel the same way.”
With Aldean echoing, “Luke and I have each been at this, career-wise and as friends, for over twenty years, and have gotten to hit a lot of milestones along the way. We’ve gotten to share the stage plenty of times over the years, and playing UGA was just a preview of what’s coming for the rest of these shows.”
Given that both Aldean and Bryan have yet another summer of touring ahead of them, with Aldean starting up his Songs About Us tour soon and Bryan headed out on his Word On The Street tour, this latest addition features a shorter set of shows. The country music icons will make four stops in cities across the United States, including Missoula, San Diego, Washington, D.C., and Las Vegas.
Kicking things off on August 1 at the Washington-Grizzly Stadium (home of the Montana Grizzlies), the following two dates continue at the end of August, with the final show at Allegiant Stadium wrapping up at the end of the year on December 11. Joining them on the road throughout the tour are supporting acts Gavin Adocck, Jon Pardi, Dylan Scott, Dasha, Chase Matthew, and Lauren Watkins.
For those who grew up listening to the 2010s era where Aldean and Bryan dominated the radio, this show will be a peak opportunity to hear the duo sing some of their greatest hits back to back (and even together) as well as an opportunity to hear Aldean’s latest hits off of his latest April 24 album release, Songs About Us, and maybe even some rumored new material from Bryan.
Tickets will go on sale Friday, May 8th, at 10 AM local time on both Aldean and Bryan’s websites. There will also be a number of VIP packages and experiences to enhance this one-of-a-kind show, including premium tickets, exclusive access to a backstage tour, invitation to the pre-show VIP Tailgate Lounge, VIP-exclusive gift item & more.
