Back in 2018, Morgan Wallen landed his first career #1 hit as a songwriter when Jason Aldean‘s You Make It Easy climbed to the top spot on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.
Through all ups and downs in Wallen’s career thus far, it seems that Aldean has remained a constant supporter of the young superstar.
Back in May, Aldean expressed his opinions on Wallen being nominated for “Entertainer of The Year” at the ACM Awards, pointing out that he was the hottest name in country music at the time and that there’s not much else he could possibly do to deserve the award more.
Wallen’s stardom and popularity has not faded an inch since the ACMs, and he still remains one of the most popular names in country music.
The Try That In a Small Town singer has never been afraid to make his opinions known, and in early press for the 57th annual CMA Awards, Aldean revealed that he believes, once again, Wallen is most deserving of the prestigious award.
In a recent interview with Taste of Country, he said:
“It doesn’t get any hotter than Morgan has been and I feel like he’s due. I don’t know how you can not vote for the guy. I mean what more do you want him to do?”
This unwavering support from Aldean comes as no surprise- the two seem to be close not just as fellow artists, but as true friends as well. That being said, it doesn’t seem like Aldean’s support for Wallen to win this award is based off of friendship, but more off of his true impact on the country music industry in the last year.
Wallen’s One Thing At A Time is the biggest country album of the year with Last Night becoming the longest running No. 1 solo hit in Billboard’s Hot 100 chart history. He has also been touring for months, performing in some of the biggest stages and stadiums across the country. Maybe tonight Jason Aldean will finally get to see his buddy receive this recognition he so deeply thinks he deserves.
