Man, Justin Moore really doesn’t get enough credit.
For as long as he’s been doing this, and with as many hits as he’s stacked up over the years, it still feels like Moore is one of the more underrated artists and vocalists in country music. And if you needed another reminder of just how good the Arkansas native can sing, this oughta do it for ya.
A video that recently resurfaced online shows Moore standing on stage when a loud “USA! USA! USA!” chant begins to take over the crowd. Rather than simply moving on with the show (as this is a reoccurring theme at almost every country concert), Moore decided there was only one appropriate response…
The “Small Town USA” singer removed his cowboy hat, held it over his chest and broke into an a cappella rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner, with the crowd quickly joining in.
While I haven’t been able to pin down exactly when or where this particular performance took place, I do know the footage is relatively recent based on Moore’s change in appearance, which he previously told Tracy Lawrence was caused by a benign buildup of fat around his neck that has him looking like a “linebacker circa 1982.”
Also, fwiw, this isn’t the first time Moore has responded to a “USA” chant by breaking into the national anthem. Back in June 2024, he did almost the exact same thing during his set at The Country Fest in North Lawrence, Ohio. As he was preparing to perform his 2019 hit “The Ones That Didn’t Make It Back Home,” fans erupted into the same chant, prompting Moore to stop the show and once again sing the Banner. The moment fittingly happened on June 14… Flag Day.
But regardless of when this took place or how thick Justin’s neck gets, the one thing that has not changed is his incredible vocal pipes. If you plan on seeing him live any time soon, just remember – if you get a loud enough “USA” chant going, there’s a pretty good chance he’ll show ’em off.
