Just a day after releasing the complete deluxe edition of his 2026 album The Night Champion featuring a brand new track alongside Stephen Wilson Jr., Koe Wetzel is already teasing fans with more new music.
Last night, the 34-year-old Texas native hit the stage at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre, which, in my opinion, is just about the best place possible to debut an unreleased hit. Apparently, the “High Road” singer is showing no signs of slowing down, with last night’s show also marking one of his last for 2026 on his coinciding Night Champion World tour as he prepares to join Parker McCollum this December for a string of dates on their highly anticipated Naughty or Nice tour.
As for fans lucky enough to witness his Morrison, Colorado, concert last night, they were officially the first to hear the start of Koe’s inevitable next chapter, imminently coming in 2027. In between his standout hits like “February 28, 2016,” “Something to Talk About,” and the more recent “Time Goes On,” Wetzel debuted a brand-new unnamed song.
Thanks to a few gracious fans who shared clips of the unexpected surprise on social media, we got a sneak peek at the track, with the chorus featuring the following lyrics (at least, from what I could make out in the videos): “I’ll tell you a story about a rolling stone who’s finally found a home. Now he’s stuck in between a brand new dream and no wonder he’s always alone. Now he’s drunk and stoned; he’s a different kind of lonely. What used to be broken and wishin’ turned into missing you.”
Considering “Missing You” is the standout lyric from the chorus, there’s a high chance this is the song’s title, but so far there’s no indication of when the track will officially be announced or released. Koe will return home for one final show tomorrow night (October 30) on his headlining tour, rounding things out in Lubbock, Texas, so hopefully he whips this song out once again for the crowd with more details about its release.
