Another Nashville restaurant bites the dust.
Downtown Nashville is constantly evolving, with new bars and restaurants opening at a rapid pace. Just yesterday, Kane Brown announced that his new bar will be opening this summer, while longtime favorites like Acme Feed & Seed and many others continue to struggle under rising property taxes.
Amidst the city’s shifting landscape, the latest casualty appears to be Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean’s joint restaurant, E3 Chophouse. On Thursday, February 19, the fine-dining establishment took to social media to announce that they’re “hitting pause,” which is never a positive sign for future longevity.
In the full statement, they revealed, “We’re temporarily pausing operations as we evaluate what Nashville needs next.” Adding the less-than-optimistic plans for the future, “Our team is assessing market opportunities and exploring potential rebrand and re-concept strategies for the future of this location.”
Since its opening in 2019, both Bryan and Aldean have owned the venture alongside former MLB player Adam LaRoche. The concept for the business originated from LaRoche’s family ranch in Kansas and led to the opening of the original E3 Chophouse in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, in 2013 (which seems to still be operating smoothly).
With 4.2 stars on Google reviews, the 2-story space with a rooftop bar is certainly on the higher end of the already expensive downtown Nashville serving posh steakhouse and fish plates. But unfortunately for the three hunting buddies, the location at 1628 21st Avenue Street didn’t seem to make the cut for the highly demanding Nashville food industry.
Despite being labeled as a ‘temporary closure,’ the open-ended statement offers little optimism about a future reopening. Still, both Bryan and Aldean will continue to have a presence on Broadway as their bars, Luke’s 32 Bridge Food & Drink, and the popular Jason Aldean’s Kitchen & Rooftop Bar continue to flourish under the ownership of TC Restaurant group.
