Megan Moroney gave fans a taste of new music with an Instagram post Friday morning, as she shared a short glimpse of a newly written song“Heaven by Noon.”
Megan revealed she’s been working on more new music with two of the writers featured on her upcoming album “Lucky,” Jessie Jo Dillon and Matt Jenkins. Jessie Jo Dillon (daughter of renowned country hit writer Dean Dillon), and Texas singer/songwriter Matt Jenkins teamed up with Megan on “Girl in the Mirror,” one of the highly anticipated tracks we’ll see on the forthcoming record next month.
As a songwriter, Jessie Jo Dillon is within the “best of the best” in Nashville, working with countless artists from George Strait to HARDY. She’s also co-written with Ashland Craft on one of Megan’s favorites (as she revealed in an Instagram story several months ago), “Mimosas in the Morning.” Matt Jenkins is another prolific writer, known for past collaboration with Old Dominion and Kenny Chesney. We already know Megan’s songwriting abilities are more than solid, so this trio’s continued partnership makes for a hell of a team.
Megan shared a minute of the unreleased song titled “Heaven By Noon” in Friday’s post, with the caption “wrote this the other day with @jessiejodillon & @mattjenkins ?.” It sounds like it’ll be a heart-wrencher, but Megan has a knack for writing deep cuts and hard-hitting lyrics so I know this’ll be good.
Megan’s debut album “Lucky” is dropping in just over a month, and is set to include 16 tracks – 3 of which have yet to be unveiled. While “Heaven by Noon” is unlikely one of them, Megan’s on fire and obviously has some big plans on the horizon.
