Six years ago today, Justin Moore performed his hit single “The Ones That Didn’t Make It Back Home” on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol at the 15th Annual National Memorial Day Parade and it was POWERFUL.
The National Memorial Day Parade is the largest Memorial Day parade in the nation, drawing in more than 250,000 spectators on-site and millions more watching it live on TV.
The single, off his 2019 record, Late Nights and Longnecks, honors the brave men and women who have served in the military as officers, fire-fighters, first-responders, teachers and nurses, and lost their lives fighting for our freedom.
When you think of patriotic Country songs, especially ones that honor the military, you typically think of Toby Keith, but Moore’s The Ones That Didn’t Make It Back Home will forever be cranked over Memorial Day weekend, at least in my house.
