This past weekend, the Tailgate N’ Tallboys festival in Bloomington, IL took place and featured acts such as Parker McCollum, Jelly Roll, Morgan Wade, Read Southall Band, Lainey Wilson and more.
One of the main headliners during the four day festival was one of the best selling rock bands of all-time; Nickelback. During their set, the boys brought out one of Country music’s hottest new-comers, Bailey Zimmerman, to perform their 2006 hit, “Rockstar.“
Bailey Zimmerman stopped by The Bobby Bones Show back in May to celebrate the release of his debut album, “Religiously,” and recalled a story from when he got the chance to hang out with Nickelback frontman, Chad Kroeger. After meeting for dinner with Brantley Gilbert and Jelly Roll, Chad apparently asked Bailey if he had his passport and plans the next day. The two then ended up on a private jet back to Chad’s house in Vancouver and spent four days in the studio writing together.
Won’t lie, it’s pretty damn cool to see Nickelback workin’ with Country artists these days. Check out Bailey’s TikTok post of him and the band performing “Rockstar,” below. Oh, and if you look hard enough, you can see Bailey rockin’ a Nickelback shirt. You can tell it was a pretty cool moment for him.
