Post Malone and Blake Shelton Release New Music Video for “Pour Me a Drink” and It Screams Summertime [Watch]

After dipping his toe into the country music community, “Circles” singer Post Malone is continuing his country music career with a bang, following up his chart-topping collaboration with Morgan Wallen, “I Had Some Help,” with yet another duet. This time around, Post paired up with the one and only Blake Shelton for a tune titled “Pour Me a Drink,” debuting it at CMA Fest earlier this month and dropping it on streaming services this past Friday (June 21).

Written by Post Malone himself — alongside Charlie Handsome, John Byron, Jordan Dozzi, Louis Bell and Rocky Block — “Pour Me a Drink” is as catchy as can be and perfect for radio, leaving country music lovers begging for the track ever since it was teased on social media back in May:

“Ahhhh one of those songs you’re gonna be screaming in your car this summer 🔥🔥🔥”

“On repeat when this drops. And Posty and his country era is just 🔥”

    “What a great song ❤️”

The laid-back, easy-going anthem discusses both individuals letting go of whatever was on their mind — the Dallas Mavericks losing a game in overtime, getting a speeding ticket, getting heartbroken and more — and enjoying a drink instead, all set atop a twangy, summer-leaning tune.

Alternating verses, the duo unites in the chorus of “Pour Me a Drink,” singing alongside one another:

“Somebody pour me a drink, somebody bum me a smoke
I’m ’bout to get on a buzz, I’m ’bout to get on a roll
Yeah, I been breakin’ my back just keepin’ up with the Joneses
Y’all know what I mean, and y’all know how it goes
When it’s up on a Friday and I’m paid, slide one over my way
I can’t even think when I can hear one callin’ my name (Hey)”

Today (June 24), the country crooners took things one step further, releasing a silly, party-packed music video for “Pour Me a Drink.” Some might argue that the music video is reminiscent of the video Post and Wallen released earlier this year for “I Had Some Help,” but this time with a summertime twist.

The video opens with Post trying to purchase a drink at a gas station, where Shelton is working at the cash register. When he seemingly doesn’t have money to purchase said drink — attempting to pay with the spare dollars and coins he had in his pocket — the “God’s Country” singer directs him to the Bud Light display, which turns into a portal that leads Post to a backyard bash. Complete with red solo cups, friendly faces, dancing, trucks and even a game of Jenga, the pair has a blast all day long and into the night, making for a music video that screams summertime.

With the music video aside, “Pour Me a Drink” is another glimpse into Post’s sixth studio album — titled F-1 Trillion, which will arrive August 16 — and his first country-leaning body of work. It is safe to say that the project will include both his collaboration with Shelton and his collaboration with Wallen, as well as “Never Love You Again,” an yet-to-be released tune that he performed at the 2024 ACM Awards. In addition to this, country music lovers are hopeful that an unnamed tune that he teased on Father’s Day will be a part of the project as well.

Until then, you can listen “Pour Me a Drink” on your favorite music streaming service as we speak, and you can watch the entirety of the music video below. Warning: It might make you want to crack open a beer…
