Summer officially can’t come soon enough.
As if there wasn’t already plenty to be excited about in country music, Zach Top recently announced that his sophomore album will be released sometime this summer.
This means that fans of the “Bad Luck” singer can soon look forward to more of his signature hits to fuel us through the warmer months. Last Tuesday, March 11th, Zach Top made history with a performance at the Houston Rodeo, playing his biggest show to date in front of 70,000 people. Amidst the excitement of performing for a sold-out stadium and riding in on horseback, he also took time for an interview as part of a Houston Rodeo x Spotify collaboration.
While the full Quick Draw Q&A hasn’t been released yet, a short TikTok clip from the interview shows Zach discussing his upcoming album: “I just went in and tracked a few more songs to round out the second record, and so we got that finished up and we’re getting it mixed right now.”
He then confirmed what fans have been eagerly waiting to hear: “There will be a new record coming out this summer.”
It’s been a tremendous year of success for Zach Top, with his career soaring as one of the hottest country artists right now. It seems that 2025 will only build on the momentum he’s already gained.
One song fans are hoping will be officially released is “Flip Flop,” which Zach teased earlier this year during some of his shows. With its Jimmy Buffett-inspired vibe, this could easily become the country beach anthem of the summer.
Beyond that, Zach hasn’t shared many details about the new album, so it will be exciting to see what direction he takes with this project. His most recent EP, Me and Billy, which he recorded with Billy Strings, showcased his bluegrass roots and it was the perfect tease to hopefully more guitar-picking tracks to come. Zach Top can pretty much do no wrong in my eyes so whatever the album sounds like, it’s bound to be the soundtrack to summer 2025.
The album’s release should also coincide with Top’s upcoming tour dates as he hits the road with Dierks Bentley for the 2025 Broken Branches Tour. Hopefully, this means fans attending Bentley’s shows throughout the summer will get to hear some of these new tracks live.
